Comments: Like others in the irregular shape series, Rush Hour is an exercise in proportion, pattern and abstract shapes. I tend to set up visual games for myself like drawing a set of shapes that are all related and yet all very different. Even when drawing a particular shape I try doing things like maximizing the variety of line segments and angles that made up the shape. I then juxtapose the irregular shapes with regular structures like those that make up the frames or a background pattern. For some reason (the diagonal pattern of the brick paving perhaps) this image seemed to have a sense of movement, like little vehicles and pedestrians moving through traffic.
