Comments: This work was a little experimental. I tried some new things like the way of forming a honeycomb and the way spheres and other geometric forms are integrated into the boarder and background patterns with varying degrees of opacity. I wasn't sure how to handle the forms in upper left until the very end. It had started as a blue cylindrical form but that resolved itself into a snake eating a beatle, a cluster of grapes, a set of seven spheres and a little cluster of cubes. I ended up making a second drawing very similar to this work but it doesn't have the snake or some of the other more complex elements.

The paper, Roma, has a really nice surface texture that is almost like superfine sand paper. It is expensive (about $8 per sheet) and it takes colored pencil very well but the color fades over time if exposed to sunlight. The Roma red becomes a little more brown over time and the blues become a little gray. It is acid-free and pH neutral so it is an archival quality paper even if the color does shift. But, if you bought a work on Roma from me before the problem was made known I will give you your money back.
